About the Clay Coyote Glazes

At the Clay Coyote we make all of our own glazes from scratch, so we know what goes into every one.

All of our glazes are lead, nickel, and cadmium free.

Some of these glazes have been used in our studio for decades, others are newer designs. All of them are custom patterns and designs of Clay Coyote Arts, Inc.

Our unique Clay Coyote Flameware pottery only comes in one glaze, Coyote Gray. Sometimes it can be a little lighter, darker, speckle-ier (that’s a new word), or a little olive.

Everything at the Clay Coyote is handmade, so please allow for some differences.

Also, glazes can perform differently depending on where they are in the kiln. For example, sometimes the Yellow Salt Glaze will be a little toasty, with more brown speckles, and sometimes it will be creamier.

Not all shapes come in all glazes (and remember, Flameware only comes in Coyote Gray), but depending on the pottery shape and glaze combo we can take a special order.
