With all this winter snow, we have some comforting winter recipes to warm your spirits! All of these can be made in your clay cookware pieces from the Clay Coyote. These recipes are sure to give you some relaxation before the holidays!
To start off with, we have chosen an appetizer that can be beautifully served on our clay trays made right here at the Coyote. They are bacon wrapped smokies and water chestnuts. These savory treats provide a punch of flavor and crunch. To add a little extra touch, bake them with a hint of brown sugar for added flavor and texture. Place toothpicks in each individual piece and serve on a tray.
Next, we have chosen three main dishes that will surely warm your heart and spirits. In one of our flameware saucepans, you can make a nice pot of homemade chili, because what doesn’t say winter than a nice warm pot of chili? The recipe we chosen is made with beef and includes beans, but you can also use pork, turkey, or no meat at all. It’s also your preference if you want beans or not. Top your chili with cheese or crackers, or put alongside it a grilled cheese, or a hometown Nebraskan favorite of mine, a cinnamon roll. We never had chili without a cinnamon roll with it, weird huh? Our next dish is a beef stroganoff. You can prepare this with our flameware skillet, and cook the noodles in our flameware saucepan. This warm and meaty dish will be an enjoyment to everyone at the dinner table. Our last dish is a classic Minnesota favorite, tater tot hot dish. Now I know there are many variations out there, so you put it in what you will. We have provided a basic recipe to get you started and you can add your favorite ingredients in. The hamburger can be made in our flameware skillet and the hot dish can be baked in the flameware cazuela. Can’t really go wrong with tater tot hot dish!
Most of those dishes can stand alone just fine, but if you are looking for a side dish we’ve got just the thing for you: mashed potatoes, which can also be substituted for sweet potatoes as well! These can be made in our flameware saucepan, and the velvety texture will leave you with a huge smile.
For dessert, a fun and easy recipe is a brownie in a mug! This recipe was made by potter Tony Holman and includes two packets of instant hot chocolate mix, 2 tbsp of sugar, 1 tbsp of softened butter or vegetable oil, 1 egg, and 3 tbsp of flour. Mix it all up, pop it in the microwave for two minutes and tada! You have a brownie in a mug! We have a wide variety of mugs here at the Coyote so you’ll be sure to find your perfect one.
Lastly, we have provided a beverage recipe for you that can be held in our vinegar crock. Two words: hot chocolate! This homemade hot chocolate recipe is a great winter staple and can be made in our flameware saucepan. Jazz it up with marshmallows, chocolate chips, peppermint sticks, whipped cream, and more! And you can use your mug from the Coyote again, it’s a win-win!
These recipes will be fun and easy to make on a cold winter day when you are stuck indoors. Come to the Clay Coyote to get your flameware pieces and mugs before you get snowed in!
